Mother Loved the RosesMother's roses were Red, Her perfume was quiet and light. I will think of mum at night, At the Palms whilst, Holding court on a winter's night. Beneath the Southern skies, The Southern Cross is her Kite. Her stars only fly by night! I will imagine her tender hand held to the sky, she moves her Kite left or right. Mum's journey will flow from Ascot to Shane's farm, Stopping at the Royal Park to return here before first light. As spring will near Mothers fragrance will bloom. We will wait your Red Rose flowers. Summer heat will warm your heart. Hey mum's got itchy feet! At night look to the haze. Try and catch her,She is out walking. Remember 1948! She had the best style in the land. Autumn have no fear, brings Mothers day near, And her Red rose heart will appear. Time to come and be near our ever loving mum. I'll give to you my flower the heart of Waratah, And sit beneath your Coolabah tree. Anita Rosemary Wilson 1928-1999 You're loving Son Colin Vote for this poem
