A series of writings that begin in the beginning.
My life as a nut, err nutshell
Education was not the goal
with the grades I was getting
I would soon be holding a flag
at road construction sites
It was helped by there were coeds
I hit the books and put them under my bed
I was there to play basketball
I was scoring 22 points a game
Coach called me over you are on probation
Unlike some of the programs today
They actually expected me to study
My girlfriend was a cheerleader
Football season came she was cheering
for football players and loved Rock in Roll Music
She said we should see others
I was doing my part no pretty girl walked by
The Wailers were giving a concert, "Louie louii!"
Wanted a pretty girl to sit on their piano
My girlfriend volunteered-I liked Rockin Robin too!
I thought it was because I was not getting good grades
I actually started opening up some books
My heart was broken when I found out
How much my girlfriend was into rocking birds
But for you guys pinning over the girl you can't forget
For you who are also hurting after being dumped
I met the girl of my dreams as close as the same dorm
and I took a poetry class found a new love
The love of putting words down on paper
Roses is red violets is blue I liked the Wailers too.
I think now that both of you are gone more than you
I saw pictures of my girlfriend and she aged awful
I still have Wailer albums I am not bitter
There was a girl holding a flag smoking a cigarette
On road construction who look just like my girlfriend
I smile she smiled back and many of her teeth were missing
Well talk next about growing up in the sixties
