I won't talk about love today
Not the kind that breaks hearts
That ain't love anyway
If you gotta talk about it ain't working
But I well mention love in passing
Ever walked by a baby in a crib?
And the little rascal catches your eye
That is true love!
Ever dropped a dollar in a bum's offering
And you knew you shouldn't
That is true love!
Ever helped an old man or woman in a walker
That is true love!
Or a blind person walk across the street
I think that is really neat
give an old man or woman your seat
Especially when you too have tired feet
Ever held a crying child when the game was lost
That is true love!
This kissing and fondling in public
That is teenage foreplay
It's when the couple watches the baby's first cry
Now that is true love!
The older you get it is more about pain than love
You watch as the one you love is in pain
The person you cannot live without
I have heard some of my fellow poets talk about pain
I feel the pain of your lost loved ones
Of the loves not yet found
The Angel of warning hovers always above us
Let the people you love know your love today
That is true love!
Forget the love that walked away
That is history!
The love of a baby crying when Mom is not there
Faith is knowing loved one never really die
Faith is a hard love to understand when love dies
Tomorrow we well talk about adult diapers
This getting older is really bothersome
I have been eating Cauliflower and Broccoli
Now that stuff runs any of the people who love me from the room
There are people who say Dandy is just full of gas
