This day all yours I still recall
Your smile, a toast in love I'd fall
If just for then no longer now
I'd still wish more for you somehow
Your birth would set its course to give
To laugh out loud to truly live
A gift your mother gave to someone
To cherish always for there's just one
One of you, one of a kind
One that stop my heart in time
You that showed me how to breathe the now
You, your soul as GOD allowed
No necklace of cultured pearls
No ring of diamond, trips around the world
But just this wish to celebrate
Another year I wished to date
I wish a smile yours never ending
I wish to play house ours pretending
A life to hold your hand forever
If just a tale with ending never
I wish you well beyond your years
For happiness with joyful tears
My wish though we are not as one
You birthed my daughter or a son
Remember well photos of you
A teenage beauty where wish I too
Had known you then and wondered if
I could have won your heart, your gift
So much to wish for but this day
Is yours, all yours and so I lay
My soul to rest to dream of you
To see what once made one once two
Happy birthday and many more
Today this write for you I scored
Across a screen where letters stream
A birthday filled with realized dreams
Of all the wishes, I wish for you
Happy Birthday Kathryn
Of all the wishes, I wish for you
