Actually I am quite independent
I have voted for a Republican President
Might say several
I have voted for a Democratic President
More than once an Irish President
OK, I wasn't sure about Nixon
Thought it might be time for a black President
And surely time for a woman
One I did not vote for was Clinton
Nothing against womanizers liked a different candidate
One thing I know for sure it is time to be American
I believe in hard work and helping the poor
That does not mean giving free health care to Illegals
I want the border closed not open
I want immigration the way my Grandparents came
I don't want another nations flag flying in my schools
Or kids who do not want to learn English
I admire people who work hard but I want them paying taxes
I am not here to take care of your kids and family
It is a good time to work together to recover this country
I would like to see a woman run but it ain't Hillary
For now it is a good night to be Republican
At least a start at bringing this country to reality
I don't want legal drugs, and surely men and women
Does this sound like a political statement it is!
