A Filigree Of Lace

To my brand new grandchild Lacie Louise Robertson, who was born at 11.10 pm on 7/11/14 weighing a healthy 6lbs 15oz, she is beautiful, welcome home little one love always from your Nannie and Star xxx

Like a filigree of lace
Petal soft skin, is your face
Eyes so big and wise and true
Much too old for little you

Mummy worked so very long
Pleaded please my babe come home
Daddy shouted come on lassie
Get oot here, and don`t be sassy

Held your Mama as you came
Rushing on the road to hame
Oh my goodness what a fuss
Here I am I`ve had enough

Of living in that dark old space
Kiss me gently I`m made of lace
Girly pink, and fragile beauty
Bow now all, and do your duty

Princess Lacie, has arrived
Now you sing the lullabies
Welcome me with open arms
Now that you can see my charms

Well done Mummy love you so
And Daddy I want you to know
That I am your precious gem
Brothers, sisters, I love them

And I`ll love my grandparents too
And hug them like all babies do
I will love you all forever
And will hurt you never ever

Welcome says my Scottish Nannie
Hello says Billy, CJ, Channie
Mummy`s family says how pretty
Love them too more than a bitty

You will dress me as a lady
Lacie dresses for your baby
I will take my time to grow
For already now I know

Time is precious everyone
Bet you`re glad I`m not a son
Pink would not look good on Billy
He would look so very silly

Lacie Louise is my name
I will never bring you shame
So kiss me lightly, hear me say
I`m so glad I`m home, today.
