Poetic-Verses

'' The Words Just Cannot Be Found ''

It's bloody hard,
Trying to be a bard,
It's like standing in a criminal dock,
The words won't come yet they're our ace card,
Your mind you just cannot unlock.

You're sitting there,
Without a care,
Suddenly words pop into your head,
There's no pen or paper, which isn't fair,
Before you know it your ideas are dead.

Words you can't rhyme,
It happens all the time,
It's a form of verbal treason,
Dictionaries should be classed as a crime,
What the hell matches with reason?

Despite trying your best,
Your brain is at rest,
Over it you've lost all control,
Is it any wonder poets get distressed?
You can't dig yourself out of that hole.

You are in full flow,
Your mind is aglow,
Suddenly the phone starts ringing,
Who it is you don't want to know,
But their neck you would love to be wringing.

Then there's critique,
Some filled with mystique,
Constructive? you cannot understand,
Constant harassment can and does make you weak,
What's said can get out of hand.

If you knew it,
You'd never do it,
But writing poetry takes real dedication,
Though at times you know you've blew it,
You strive to reach your destination.

Though you wouldn't know it,
I think I'm a poet,
My next poem will truly astound,
At this moment in time I just cannot show it,
Why?
