I will honor our God,
For He pulled me from the pit;
So I will honor and laud,
Rejoicing in His merit.
I cried out to Him for aid,
He made feel so reassured;
No longer was I afraid,
For my illness He has cured.
God brought me up from the grave,
He has called me back to life;
My redemption He does save,
Ridding me of pains and strife.
I make music to praise Him,
All faithful people belong;
To be joyous and not grim,
And singing a happy song.
His anger is very short,
But favor lasts a lifetime;
And is there for your support,
In making the uphill climb.
Weeping may last for a night,
But there will be joyous song;
At dawning of morning light,
With making right what was wrong.
So when all is well with me,
No more will I be shaken;
Wisdom and insight will see,
I will not be forsaken.
God made my mountain stand firm,
And after He hid His face;
But knowing in the long term,
I will always have His grace.
I will cry out to the Lord,
Pleading for mercy and grace,
Knowing I am not ignored,
Although I see not His face.
