Katoomba thunder, sandstone ridge!
With air as cool as the fridge.
Carrying your cases to the Carrington.
This is the treat set back off the street.

The wall of stained windows!
Welcome, too & for loves red carpet for the feet.
Warming the skin into the sole.

Enter through the weather wall, cascading lead light.
Wonderful wood work complements windows woven.
Design to protect you from a frown.
And the darker side of this majestic town.

Grand veranda looking down gardens & driveway to the town.
World heritage all around for those who stay.
Back in time the builder had his say.
Grandeur & greatness amongst the halls.

Dine my friends in the awesome dinning cavern.
It grandeur & stately ornamental furniture, clock.
The walls wind their way up ceiling, standing tall.

The laconic lift, beckons to slide the door.
Yes with your hands no automatic, it heavy & static.
Peel back the steel mesh.
The creeks & groans.
No safety phone.
You are never alone.

Someone around to make you feel like home.
Guest of greatness have gone before.
Holiday makers, lovers.
Business seekers.

Close the door to the room.
Look out the windows the Carrington’s on the hills.
Chimneys bricks stacked to the sky.
Once used in days gone by.
Loaded boilers stoked by coal.
Ascending veins of steam through the walls.

Descend the steps flowing into cafes & interesting shops,
Like a waterfall cascading down Katoomba street.
