We have a solid foundation, Because the words have been engraved; Having been offered salvation, Knowing to whom you are enslaved. The Lord knows who belongs to Him, To worship Him stop doing wrong; If not then chances are real slim, Your agonized pain will prolong. Stay away from the lusts which tempt, Pursue what the Lord approves of; No temptation will be exempt, Rather live in faith, peace, and love. Some things made of silver and gold, Others are made of wood and clay; Remember do as you were told, For you need to trust and obey. Pursue into faith, love and peace, Worship the Lord in a pure heart; Then your hostilities will cease, While His Word you do impart. As you serve God do not argue, For arguments can become hot; And Satan is making a stew, When he will put you in the pot. So always be gentle and kind, As you are willing to suffer; Teach with trying to ease their mind, And never to be a bluffer. For what you teach are not your views, And not a place to be uncouth; For you are preaching the God News, And the Word of God is the truth. So it depends on who you trust, For Satan will tempt with a dare; Or setting a trap for your lust, That is catching you in a snare. Copyright © 2014 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
