       Ain’t That a Shame!
Here in the dark I set, listing to the sounds of
“The House of the Rising Sun.”
The years have passed, but the agony last.
The days of Jack and Bobby are gone,
as are the deafening sounds of whirly birds
in the jungle sky. I still wonder, why Oh!...why!
Oh! Yes, we still wonder if the lion sleeps to night?
Time changes nothing, but nothing matters…nothing matters,
I’m telling you, for the  oceans will dry up and the mountains will someday be dust in the wind!
So what will matter then?

Millions have come and millions have gone, all thinking they could
change things, but things have stayed the same, now ain’t that a shame?
The world is but a drifting ball of dirt and stone, and once again, I set here,
all alone…listing to: “The House of the rising Sun!” and wondering what
I could have done?
