Just what good does it do? To have faith as you claim; But not with being true, By doing things in shame. By faith is what we should, Assist sisters and brothers; Doing things that are good, Sharing to help others. Can this kind of faith save? When someone may need food; But hold back what you crave, And selfish attitude. Then tell God be with you, And that life is so tough; Then just bid them adieu, Hoping they eat enough. If you do not provide, For physical needs; Flowers not grow inside, They will only grow weeds. Faith by itself is dead, If not doing good things; You will be cursed instead, And never spread your wings. Show me your faith apart, From the good things you do; Compassion in your heart, To God remaining true. You believe in one God, Demons also believe; They not honor and laud, Damnation they receive. Do you have to be shown? Having faith is useless; Helping not one alone, For God will never bless. Copyright © 2014 Richard Newton Sherrer Vote for this poem
