Quiet As A Murmur
Listening, whispering, thinking your name,
slowly but surely, touching insane
Remember, forgetting, the way things could be,
If only,
If only, the living was free
For daily and hourly, the seconds tick by,
my head on my pillow, eyes fixed to the sky,
Heart beating strongly, missing a beat, and quiet as a murmur,
the message complete,
There's rain on the window, the sound stills my mind,
I am drifting to sleep,
Leaving longing behind.
