No part of me exists without the pain
For love and loss have hastened my demise
No longer to be cleansed by falling rain
Nor energised by darkened starlit skies

A fragment deep within may never heal
Despite all efforts made on my behalf
And grateful for attempts to help me feel
Unable still to simply cry or laugh

In saying this, there's still hope in my heart
That one day soon I'll be made whole again
New journeys being planned and yet to start
And friendships old and new will still remain

Its true to say that something simply died
It's also true to say I never cried
