 ~REFLECTING MOMENTS~

TOURNIQUET

Inside of me, I entertained
a quiet answer
and it all came to me

The voices called out:
"just let it be"

I pulled back
that silver sleeve
adjacent to the window

Across a dusted table
an ashtray and a needle

The battle ended there
I felt the breath of angels
they hushed my human struggle

A light from another
glazed my eyes with glitter

I am heavy with burden
my wings cannot flutter

Sinful hands a many
carry me to my grave
I am that mountain, distant

Where I shall never save

The brook took back
it's babble
and the tree's dropped

Their leaves

Come to me my savior
for I have fallen to my knees

Gender knows no different
lift me to the sky's
rid me of my tourniquet

I bleed deeply
this is my disguise

The battle remains
and I will not surrender
I will not lie down
inside that wooden sleeve

For it is not yet my time

I am not ready for my death
nor for that absurd burial
for I will be lucid and burned.
