The Songs We Sung

The Songs We Sung

To my darling husband John on what would have been his 76th birthday, instead he died on the 4/8/13 and we buried him on his birthday one year ago today 17/12/14. I pray wherever he is, he is happy and at peace. love always Your wife. Penni xxx

Oh how I miss you each night,
Four walls and me.
I catch the rainbow you send
From out of Eternity

I watch the sad movies each day
My voice echoes to your sweet sound
While I sing and you darling play
I wish that you were still around

We stroll the lanes together
While I sing the soft melody
In rhythm you play your guitar
While singing in sweet harmony

Music was all that we are
All that we always will be
You play up there on a star
While echoes of you I can see

The light still appears every morning
As usual I watch for the sun
Then I remember the dawning
Is when you left us behind, every one

I hope that somewhere you`re singing
If I listen hard I can hear
Your guitar and harmony ringing
Like whispers of love in my ear

Once more I know you`ll be young
As soon as you crossed that divide
And you will be happy and strong
For you have no pain left to hide

But in my heart you never grew old
I still see the man that I met
Young and so vibrant, solid as gold
And darling I`ll never forget
