Requiem
Long ago I found a story
Lodged deep within me somewhere
And days became months then years
Before it saw the light of day,
But still I don't know what it's saying,
Still I sense a world beyond words-
And in the stillness there is a song,
In the calm there is a dream
Forming like Angels from stardust,
Like dawn after the dark night of the soul.
Someone is framed against my minds canvas
A portrait that makes me smile and weep,
The sky rains flowers all around me
As the sun dispels the storm at last.
Lodged deep within me somewhere
And days became months then years
Before it saw the light of day,
But still I don't know what it's saying,
Still I sense a world beyond words-
And in the stillness there is a song,
In the calm there is a dream
Forming like Angels from stardust,
Like dawn after the dark night of the soul.
Someone is framed against my minds canvas
A portrait that makes me smile and weep,
The sky rains flowers all around me
As the sun dispels the storm at last.
