Before this day draws to a close
There will be thoughts and I suppose
Some will be spilled upon a page
Many call home, theirs to engage
Reminisce of those not here
A hug goodbye, someone held dear
As time does take its toll on all
Time precious before last call
We lost loved ones family and friends
We gaze on pictures to no end
Remembering beloved ones
Parents, daughters and countless sons
Remembered well as fingers run
Across photos before a day old Sun
Will set give way to a Blue Moon
Life but a blink, too fast, too soon
Yet gifts they were for a short while
Each one special unique and style
All their own, ours for a time
Their chapter closed one would call mine
In loss they left the best of them
Behind for you as breath would lend
A lifetime yours to comprehend
That all good things come to an end
A new year but a tick away
Yours this day, your role to play
A mending part of parted ways
Among those still here, 2 words to say
FORGIVE trespassers that caused divide
LOVE once again, bring life to ties
For GOD forgave as you should too
Forgiveness yours, years end breakthrough
11:59, there still is time
Happy New Year to all at POETRYPOEM.COM
