A Circle  (written April 14th  2003)

written April 14 2003

Its odd
watching you from the opposite side
of the street

I'm waiting here
to go my way
and  for you
to go yours

I keep looking over
your way
seeing
a person
I've known
awhile

I'm thinking
about mathematics
continuous lines and intersections
algebraic and geometric equations

theories I've forgotten
a long while ago
but your line eventually
forms a circle
which leads back
to me

I like that
we will
intersect again
each of our journeys
ending in the
intersection
of our shared
lives memories and the
interlacing of our bodies and
mouths

there is pleasure
there is comfort
there is joy
in the rejoining
of the line which
makes a circle

our circle.

written as I see you walk away to catch your train...
