Are there trials, are there test and temptations
Are there disappointments and divers tribulations
What’s the reason for the season, the point of it all?
Does life offer only death since man’s fall?
Where is the promise of life more abundant?
Stay strong and endure just sounds so redundant
Why awake another day to face another dark night
Why not run away since you can’t win the fight
Don’t let personal observation get in the way
Oh the power of the grave, if Jesus didn’t stay?
Who could look forward to endure such pain?
In the house of the forsaken and still remain
Except there be a bigger picture, a much greater cause
That could overshadow rituals, sacrifices, and laws
Since He is bigger than me, and that was bigger than him
Then there has to be a bigger picture than this storm I’m in
His Word never goes out and returns to Him void
So the grave is really defeated and death destroyed
When Jesus said “it is finished” it signified it began
The start of the missionary journey to teach all man
Not only by written words kept sacred and dear
But also a living, breathing word they are able to hear
Unless a seed dies and is buried under ground
It cannot provide nourishment to those around
And except there be a tribulation and one past the test
There is no testimony born to encourage the rest
A call is going out to the saints saying who shall I send
Who shall arise to for a cause that’s bigger than them?
This is not about you, this is not about me
Rather it’s about a sin enslaved world dying to be free
They are broken by bondage of sin and shame
And the key to release is only found in one name
So if you suffer here, however brief or long
Remember that in your weakness He is strong
This is not about judgment, punishment, or revenge
But it’s about a bigger battle to save all men
