The older I get the better I wuz
Basketball was my game just because
Being left handed baseball limited positions
Tall and skinny the dudes ran under me
In the game of football that was
The older I get the better I wuz
My number was always my age after seven
Eight I was eight years old
I quit playing under thirty at 44
I could still rebound but hardly score
Now I am back to seven again seventy seven
They did not bring in three shot until I was retired
22 points a game would have been thirty
Playing Center I got down and dirty
But it is an annual thing to make a three point shot
Went down to watch Grandson play
They have made the hole in basket smaller
And I was closer to the rim so much taller
The gym has gotten bigger like a football field
The basketball now weighs ton
Except Maybe in New England
Up to the line to shoot the shot I have to run
Like in golf is there a ladies three
Because to make this shot well take out my knee
I have to do because the kids circle around
If I make it more a clank that the net swishing sound
Then to do it again I have another year to hang around
The older I get the bigger the uniform I wear
Can you believe I missed it because of the suns glare
