I had built up a wall,
That no spaces were there;
Knowing it will not fall,
God strengthens it through prayer.
I had not hung the doors,
For at the city gates;
Next to the condors,
That open with some weights.
For a messenger told,
Me to sound the alarm;
My enemy is bold,
Wanting to do me harm.
So I cannot stop now,
I must continue on;
With having the knowhow,
Work through the night till dawn.
I am challenged in life,
God can strengthen my hands;
For my foe is my strife,
Through what the task demands.
I worked throughout the night,
For getting the doors hung;
Until the morning light,
When chains for weights were hung.
I am feeling secure,
That my wall has given;
I fortified each door,
With a gift from Heaven.
So I then wrote my foe,
And sent off the letter;
Just for letting him know,
Being strengthened better.
Not to brag rather fact,
I am strengthened through God;
My fortress is intact,
For the Lord I applaud.
