You are my hope Almighty Lord,
The only one I have adored;
And You have been my confidence,
The reason for my obedience.
Ever since I was very young,
I was worshipping as I sung;
Praise as I depended on You,
In helping and seeing me through.
Before I was born in the womb,
You showed life goes beyond the tomb;
So my songs of praise always speak,
About You to whom I do seek.
I have become an example,
As is spoken in the Gospel;
Because You are my strong refuge,
Where sin is a heavy deluge.
My mouth is filled with joy and praise,
As I allow my voice to raise;
For all your glory all day long,
As it keeps my faith running strong.
Reject me not when I am old,
Embrace me as life does unfold;
Forsake me not if I grow weak,
Because I am humble and meek.
Please be not so distant from me,
Come quickly to assist to see;
As to see through the sin and shame,
That the worldly pleasures proclaim.
I always continue to hope,
So in this life I have to cope;
With shame and humiliation,
Converting to jubilation.
My mouth tells of Your righteousness,
And showering Your blessedness;
About Your salvation through the night,
Until others have seen the light.
Even when I am old and gray,
Help me to still trust and obey;
So I can tell the young in age,
How in getting to the next stage.
