"I am so mentally exhausted,"
She tearfully confided,
I do the very best I can
But the battle seems one-sided.
The devil seems to laugh at me
Each time I break down and cry.
I try to rise above my weakness
But the mountain seems too high."
Are you another weary Christian
Struggling from day to day?
Trying to keep it all together?
To be good in every way?
Seems when we try the hardest
We frequently fall on our faces.
We've been told to rest in Jesus
But we've forgotten just what Grace is.
O, why settle for this set back?
Why must we let our lives be shoved
Into this fear infested corner
When we're unconditionally loved?
This epidemic state of weariness
Throws us all beneath the bus .
If we've been pressured to be perfect
Then His perfection's not in us.
We cannot earn God's favor...
Makes no difference what we try.
He's already proved He loves us
By hanging on The Cross to die.
He doesn't simply tolerate us...
He enjoys us to the max!
And if we really trust our Father
Then we must learn to relax.
Our hearts must not be troubled...
We can't fear His rejection.
Be still and know that He is God,
And God is love in each direction.
There is no way to be good enough
So don't try so hard to be...
For God only sees the goodness
Christ imparts to you and me.
