wordrider's world

Just Beween

Just beween, you and I,
I wonder why.
People never understand,
what keeps this land free.

The sacrifice folks make,
the fears that into their hearts are baked.
Will they make it home,
Will they died alone.

These man and woman one and all,
Know they might fall.
Someone's father, someone's mother,
There will be a sister, a brother.

Into this darkness they will walk,
Never knowing if with the folks back home they will once again talk.
Sometimes it gets hard, sometimes it gets tough,
And of the light of day they can't get enough.

Yes, the next time you work or play,
Thank someone who is, or serve to keep freedom this way.
So, don't just say to anyone freedom will last day  after day.
For before you know it is gone away.
