`HELLO`

`HELLO`

Walking along the old familiar street
I remember this is where we`d meet,
Head down against the falling misty rain
Lost in thoughts that my heart still retain.

Carried on the gentle breeze of the night
I hear an old familiar voice to my delight,
I stop and look right up into your eyes
And all the old feelings begin to rise.

`Hello, how are you?` I can hear the pain
`It`s so good to see you again`,
Your voice thick with so much emotion
The words sounded like a love potion.

All my heartaches came flooding back
I knew if I spoke my voice would crack,
Remembering what could have been
Should have been but weren`t, life is mean.

Here we were face to face once again
We were both walking down memory lane,
We were so close yet a lifetime away
But it seemed just like it was yesterday.

`Hello how are you? it`s good to see you again
I must say you`re looking good`
 both in the rain,
The rain hid my tears as they silently fell
It was good to see him but it hurt like hell.

I smiled but my eyes couldn`t hold his gaze
I longed to hold him like in the old days,
I couldn`t let him see my heart in my eyes
He would see how my heart for him cries.

He touched my arm and my legs went weak
Then he placed a kiss upon my wet cheek,
He wiped a tear that I thought he hadn`t seen
And said `I too think of how things could have been`.

He disappeared back into the rainy night
I watched him `til he was out of sight,
My heart sank but it had to be this way
Things just weren`t meant to go our way.

His words played in my head driving me insane
`Hello, how are you? It`s good to see you again`
My tears continued to fall along with the rain
What should have been and wasn`t causes pain.
