And to think
we shared a life
Now I look at you,
your cold, dispassionated face
And I wonder
was it all an illusion?
And to think
of all the places we travelled to,
All the times we shared,
both happy and sad
All the plans, hopes, and dreams
was it all an illusion?
Not to mention
all those promises, those
sweet moments of
"I love yous"
Now you could barely talk to me
was it all an illusion?
What about the home
we had created together?
The families we've joined together
and the furkids we've loved and nurtured?
Now my cat had been stolen by you
was it all an illusion?
We cross paths now and then,
and you could barely put together
more than a sentence
And I wonder, was that the woman I once loved?
Did we once share a life together?
Or was the whole thing an illusion?
