Poetic-Verses

'' We Were The Ultimate Disease ''

With our sticks and stones,
We broke some bones,
To ensure we remained alive,
We kept within our laid out zones,
As a species we began to thrive.

Everything was good,
We killed for food,
We respected each other's ways,
All in all we were pretty shrewd,
Those were our happy days.

Then knives and spears,
Confirmed our worst fears,
Greed and violence became the norm,
Soon we'd be shedding many tears,
Mass murder became the norm.

Instead of a feed,
We ignored the need,
We demanded more than the other,
Soon we knew the meaning of greed,
The truth we began to smother.

With guns we killed,
Fear we instilled,
Nothing could stop us now,
We claimed it's what our Gods have willed,
What an excuse and how.

Through our toil,
We discovered oil,
We emptied the bowels of the Earth,
Polluting our planets life giving soil,
Soon the truth would come to berth.

The nuclear age,
Nobody can gauge,
For death we've a terrible thirst,
All it takes is one in a rage,
To determine who fires first?

When it all started,
From the Earth we departed,
In minutes our existence had ended,
Nothing left to feel broken hearted,
Our devastation could not be mended.

We're sick in the head,
Our planet's been bled,
Each other we refused to appease,
Every life form now lies dead,
