The Black & White Poet

99,809 poems read

They encourage us to look at the world in

White, pure dreams, lit by goodness and

Predictive cycles of lifestyles of

Hard work and marriage and children and

Though some days dim, reminded of

God and his intent, and of faith and

belief in the go getters of humanity.

But chilling reminders abrupt

That darkness consumes many corners

Of this life - ever more now than before...

Hazy sights washing minds and hearts.

Memories of good and bad collide.

Sadness undefined and happiness

Undefined...

My belief in eternal power flickers low

Though never to be gone, I'm certain.

It's the miscommunications and the sloppy

And current state of human existence

and it's their relationship with God, that clenches my brain.

My soul stays in tact, though privately pained by

Temporal temptations and common distractions.

I know love. I know white, pure ambitions

But too often are they drowning in

The dark waters of disappointing realities

Fake lives, trying to survive, just like mine

Flaunting white lives and flaunting pride

As if evil were truly never hiding in disguise

So me, though hard to find, hides

In the pit of my own soul begging for justice

That a world full of deception and deceit

Could be exposed to all mankind
