Straight To The Heart. By Sherri Whittaker

It Was You That My Father Loved

I came into your world as a baby
to Mary from God up above
He had planted the seed for this reason
it was you that My Father loved

I grew up in your world watching
all the hate, all the cruelity and sin
And I tried every day to teach you
But few invited Me in

The day came when you chose to reject Me
you mocked Me and beat Me on that day
As I was tortured, you lead me to Calvary
And I carried your cross all the way

No greater love can there be in this life time
no greater friend will you have in this world
My Father sent Me to teach you to love
And He watches from Heaven above

I was not guilty but few believed Me
I came to save you and you nailed Me to a tree
From the cross I looked down and forgave you
This was God's plan, oh why can't you see

My Father, could not look upon Me
as I was covered in sin's not My own
I cried out - 'Father forgive them'
And I bore all your sins alone

The death I endured was My choosing
I could have come down any time from that cross
But I commended My spirit, into My Father's hands
then I died, was buried, now risen, no longer will you bear the cost

It was My blood that covered all your sins
From birth till your life is no more
Death - I defeated forever, eternal
This is what My Father sent Me for.

No greater love can there be in this life time
no greater friend will you have in this world
My Father sent Me to teach you to love
And He watches from Heaven above

Now I'm waiting at the right hand of The Father
for the time I return and claim your soul
Then you will join Me - joint heir to the Kingdom
for eternity you will be whole

love,  Jesus Christ
