Smoldering Embers

She shudders at ,

the smoldering embers

for heart just dies

when it remembers

That he, Oh heart of her

left this world some time ago

left her crushed, clutching ashes

eyes cast upon his headstone

Days turned to months then, years

she fails each time she tries

to muster strength through pain

Instead her heart just dies

So oft love of him finds her

chasing dreams of yesterday

clutching close his photo

tinged and slightly frayed

She shudders even in sleep

nightmares of smoldering embers

for he is still her everything

he's all her heart remembers

So oft her heart is seeking

she's hungry for his smile

his voice and reassurance

that he'll be just a while

So oft in disbelief she screams

oh God please tell me why”?

but only silence meets with her

each time she wants to die

Time forgot to heal

her smoldering heart of embers

leaving her utterly crushed

each time March meets November

She shudders at a world so cold

she's yet to understand

so with each burn that comes to pain

he comes to hold her hand

For Momma in remembrance of Dad ( Joey Herrera)

I hope you're dancing in the sky Dad,
Thank you for the love that
burns deep inside all of us,
We were blessed the day you entered our life,
and deeply crushed the day God took you home!

You will forever be missed here on earth
Mostly by Mom who can't accept your abscense
You were the greatest gift
Our mentor, Our glue,
Our Everything!
Love you so much,
Thank you for becoming husband to our mom,
and Dad to her children,
We love you and cherish your memory
Forever!
God took you home on March 1996
and your birthday was in November so that is
why mom is so pained from March through November!
We will Never stop Missing You Dad!
You took a huge part of us all with you
Especially Mom
Until we meet again,
We Love You!
