A SOBERING DAY

A SOBERING DAY

I went to a funeral today
Of a neighbour from along the way,
It wasn`t so many years ago
That she was dealt a devastating blow.

One of her three daughters died
And her loss she just couldn`t hide,
But now they are together again
Reunited which ended her pain.

Still two daughters are now left behind
But in their Dad comfort they will find,
Their loss is great of this I am sure
As they won`t see their Mum anymore.

Some tributes were sad and made you sigh
Others made you question the reason why?
Some were funny and made you smile
Recalling memories of her for a while.

Feeling lost and very bereft
Memories now are all they have left,
They are what they should hold in their heart
Then from their Mum they won`t be apart.

It has been a most sobering day
Puts things in perspective I have to say,
None of us know what tomorrow will bring
But if we wake up it will be a blessing.
