 Penniluck's legacy

Geordie

In honour of a gentleman called George Paton Lawson, know as Geordie by family and friends, who died this morning at 10am aged 91. By his side were his lovely wife Isabelle he called Belle, who is 88 and his daughter Helen and family. I met this man and he was a true gentleman. 6/5/15 RIP Geordie hugs xxx

He served as a Scottish soldier
With Scottish pride he fought
Hit in the eyes with shrapnel
Blind as bat he got
The nurses guided him up the stairs
And he counted as they went
He thought he would try it on his own
And so tall and bent
Counting the stairs he got to ten
Thought he had made it there
But there two he did not see
So he fell right down the stair
Strangely an angel came to him
As he lay upon the ground
His head bashed in and fast asleep
But as he came around
He opened his eyes and he could see
No longer blind he found
He became a special constable
A sergeant in his town
There for all who needed him
Let nothing get him down
Next year would have been the 70th
Of his long married life
He wanted to make it special too
For his lovely wife
But Belle knows he loved her
And she still loves him so
Wishes he had stayed around
But Geordie had to go
He loved his children very much
He gave to them his heart
Says to them he`s sorry now
That they all have to part
But Geordie was a gentleman
Tall and lean and strong
He will watch his loved ones
Even `though he`s gone
Did so much in his long life
Can hold his head up high
As God took Geordie up with him
To Heaven in the sky
Do not weep this man would say
I am with you still
I loved you then, I love you now
And I always will.
