Saviour

A quiet night full of melodies,

Touching your heart in silence,

Wishing a thousand good things

Will come to you in your sorrow;

And you know this love will grow

Even when all the dust has settled

And we dwell in finer mansions.

I have no name but memory,

All the pieces falling into place,

The magical beauty of your face,

Plaintive like the cry of angels

Across the starry heavens above.

Let me be your humble saviour,

Let me take away the anguish

Written in your tearful eyes ,

Let me enfold you in wonder

As if I were the beginning and end

Of everything you knew to be real.

Stop just for a moment in time

To see how everything is forever,

How all that we ever had

Just goes on and on and on,

How all those things that matter

Find a home somewhere deep inside

And will be with us always.

So no need to hurt so much,

Flowers are always reaching for the light,

Dreams are always leading us on

And in the very midst of the storm

The soul bursts into endless beauty

And we are saved at last.
