Threads of Life As one of my friends can attest to,
Both the light and the dark threads are needed
For the all over beauty of quilting...
An art in which she has succeeded
In blessing her family and friends
With these beautiful gifts from her hands...
Created with love and affection...
As one who receives understands.
As Christians our stories may differ
But there are dark and light threads tied to each.
Perfection is something we strive for
Yet it's just one more stitch out of reach.
But should we disguise our shortcomings?
Should we hide every weakness and flaw?
Should we paint on a smile when we're broken?
To make certain that nobody saw
That, as humans, we tend to know failure...
And are prone to our share of mistakes...
But are we risking our God's reputation
When we share all our wrongs and heartbreaks?
Some teach an admission to error
Is simply making our Savior look bad...
That we should button our lips and keep smiling...
But, to my way of thinking, that's sad.
Because it's living a lie and it's saying
That difficulty diminishes worth!
Because if we could live without problems
We'd have no need for our God here on earth.
The truth is Christ is our perfection...
And He's our only claim to this state...
Because each thread of life forms a pattern
That dark and light moments create.
So don't be afraid to be honest
About things you may have to go through.
You'll only be showing God's goodness
Because you know He will show up for you!!
