I have avoided madness
Despite a world going mad with
Rabid technology that twists
Reality into instant connectedness
With life not yet lived and deleted
Leaving an empty space
In the internet landscape
Of the soul which doesn’t
Fully comprehend what just
Happened but wounded non the less
By things not of light, not of breath,
Not of water, not of food, not of blood

I have avoided madness
In this Brave New World
By the memory of my old Father
And I sitting under the apple tree
Drinking shots of bourbon under the full moon
And talking of things that really matter
