High up in the heavens,
god looked upon the earth,
and wondered to himself,
what a wretched mess.

God created the heavens and earth,
he gave us each plenty,
if only we would share.

And so he gazes in amazement,
at our petiness and greed,
to think that all gods ever asked,
to treat each other kindly,
and to just believe.

And yet in all mankind's history,
we have not done well,
so god sighs with regret,
will they ever learn.
