Watching blood war
across the water
he sees eyes
even more ancient
spit on progenic hatred
as it bayonets generations
bewildered by a ferocity
ignored by his emperor
he retreats to a cave
coaching bulbs that must
grow another's sustenance
having comsumed poverty
from a beaten watercup
he stands before a cliff
strangely nourished
content in his choosing
unperturbed by shabbiness
full wist wind buffets
slaming cold its mood
agains righteous tatters
the word understands
necessary sadness
following the sun's lead
his eyes cross the ocean
wrest melancholy from air
before it gales itself to fury
wreaking face vengeance
poet justice pronounced
for that evitable death
