God tints corners of this tiny globe
In tones of foliage green...
Sends smells of summer floral
To perfume each sun-kissed scene .
In summertime this wondrous smell
Comes forth out of the sod...
Ah-hhh, what is this sweet aroma?
Is it not a scent of God?
A sky ablaze with scenic warmth
Moves each cotton-colored cloud ...
Separated from the darker ones
By some shielding unseen shroud.
Ah-hhh, God keeps the air conditioned...
Breezes pushing back the heat...
Away from sweat-drenched bodies
And off of those flip flopping feet.
Yes, summers can be sweltering...
But being barefoot on some beach
Should keep a tiny bit of heaven
Automatically in reach.
So bring on the torrid temperatures!
Soak the sand in sultry rays!
There's no season more sun-sational
Than these laid-back summer days!
Ah-hhh, the scent of sweet magnolias
Drifting by about twilight
Sprawled on a back porch, in pajamas,
Bathed in a star strewn night.
Munching on some watermelon
Or sipping on some sweet iced tea.
O, taste and see that God is good!
And summer tastes heavenly!!
Summer days spent in the Spirit...
Lived in the sphere of Godly love...
Brings a sweeter scent of Jesus...
Brings an aroma from above!
O, tell me, what is more enhancing...
More enjoyable in life...
Than the soothing smell of summer...
When the planet smells like Jesus Christ?

~~AUTHOR'S NOTE~~
I am NOT trying to compare God to His creation
in this poem...but the presence of God permeates
everything on the earth, under the earth, and above
the earth...Can you see, smell, hear, and feel God in all
you do ...in everyplace you go? I love the song that goes
"Jesus...Jesus...Jesus...There's just something about
that Name... Jesus...Jesus...Jesus...Like the fragrance
after the rain." Yes, I smell His fragrance in the summer!
.
Psalm 74:17
You have fixed all the boundaries of the earth;
you have made summer and winter
2 Corinthians 2:14-16
But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph
in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place. For we are
a fragrance of Christ to God among those who are being
saved and among those who are perishing; to the one
an aroma from death to death, to the other an aroma
from life to life. And who is adequate for these things?…
Solomon 2:1
I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys
Psalm 34:8
O taste and see that the Lord is good:
blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
Hebrews 6:5
And have tasted the good word of God,
and the powers of the world to come,
