You will meet people who like to brag
About good deeds that they have done,
They like to sing their own praises
And hope people think they are a good`un.
Don`t know why they need people to know
Of everything that they may do,
I think it`s better to be an unsung hero
And let the people give you your due.
Keep silent as to services rendered
Self-praise is no recommendation,
Your reputation should precede you
Let others give you the admiration.
Think how much nicer it would be
If you spoke of favours received,
And thanked all the kind people
For the things they had achieved.
