On This 4th of July

For the first time in my life
I've had weird thoughts today...
Thoughts about just getting out
Of the once proud USA.

My home's unrecognizable!
My country's lost her mind!
She was built to serve and honor God
But she's left Him way behind.

Our nation's so divided
It's become a racial war!
The police are now the enemy!
And the criminal a star!

A hundred and fifty year old flag
 Just began another fight!
Some say it symbolizes slavery...
Some don't see it in that light.

Men are marrying other men!
Women marry their own sex!
Will pedophiles marry their prey?!
My Heavens, what is next?!

Was not aborting the unborn
 Sinful enough to bear?
Were not the rapes and robberies
And murders everywhere?

Greed infiltrates the government
And "we the people" have no voice.
Our health care is in shambles...
For we no longer have much choice.

The economy is shackled to
The international debt.
Just how will this crisis be resolved
Is anybody's bet!!

Islamic dictates keep us pulled
In all ways but direct
America bows down to be
"politically correct."

Some gays have marred the memory
Of the Iwo Jima flag.
Replacing the red, white, and blue
With a gay pride rainbow rag.

The spirit of the anti-Christ
Has reared its ugly head.
 And Christian persecution
Would see too many of us dead.

No, America is not the same
Sweet girl I grew up in.
She's drifted way too far from God
And way too deep in sin.

But despite her faults and failures,
I will love her till I die...
For I'm remembering how she used to be
On this 4th of July.

Psalm 33:12
Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD;
and the people whom he hath chosen for his
own inheritance

Exodus 19:5
Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant,
then out of all nations you will be my treasured
possession. Although the whole earth is mine.

2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, which are called by my name,
shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek
my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will
I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin,
 and will heal their land
