'' Time Cannot Be Swayed ''
That clock we all watch,
Ticks happily away,
Just one more notch,
Brings another day.
Our obsession with time,
Runs really deep,
Being late is a crime,
We lose it through sleep.
When wide awake,
We ask it to hurry,
Our life we forsake,
Yet we don't worry.
While young it's forever,
You can't see an end,
Yet all life it will sever,
Your demise it will vend.
It puts us in a rage,
It can give us pleasure,
Why do we age?
Time has our measure.
With it you learn,
It can light your fire,
For more you'll yearn,
That will be your desire.
It shows no respect,
For the young or old,
It can leave lives wrecked,
At times leave you cold.
Treat it with care,
Harvest each second,
Always be aware,
One day you'll be beckoned.
When your time comes calling,
Do not be dismayed,
For this there's no stalling,
