As I was going my way,
I saw the branch of a tree sway.
I felt as if it smiled at me,
Said, “I am happy whatever the situation be.
You will never see me standing still,
I can be happy at my own will.
The smoke in the air makes my vision fade,
Rather than complaining, to every passerby I do give shade.
When a storm comes, I am alert,
The pace of the storm sometimes hurts.
When I hear thunders loud,
I know rain will break down from the clouds.
I shall get soaked in rain,
The drops of water will remove my pain.
The dirt that comes on me,
Is because of pollution, you see!
I don't complain of it,
Till I am on this earth, I shall do my bit.
Often I do hear a bird sitting on my branch and cry,
Her mate that day had to die.
I am not afraid of death,
I enjoy my every breath.
I don't know whether I will be chopped tomorrow,
I can tell you, I never think of sorrow.
There is no point of thinking of what isn't in my hand,
So I live every moment happily that I stand.”
I thanked the Talking Tree,
Hearing her Wisdom I felt free.
I don't want to worry now,
By trying to answer why, when and how.
Rather I want to be happy today,
And enjoy my life in the best possible way.
