You Aint Nothin' Better Than

you-you-you
can't do nothin' better than
think up rainbows

n' bring home stray cats
draw spring flowers

girl...

yer head's so far in the clouds
they got's a picture of you
on google earth

your lick o'sense
ain't even a penny's worth
n' a penny don't buy nothin'
no more but trouble
these days

n' a penny ain't nothin'
but small change
and no good news

you couldn't be
no kin to me
something
raised up

what did you say...

I sho din't?

ain't you a sore prize
sayin' somethin' like that
that you ain't nothin'
like me

all fancy-airs
sapphire-blues
and the like

doomed you is
to keep
company
wi' only yo'self.
