Integrity slips away
Dreading the next day
A price too high to pay
Worthless words of dismay.
Tied with numbers,
Binded by math,
Buried in contracts
Swerving off the path.
Worry and wait
Worry and wait
If only you'd paid
The tollman at the gate
Now outside the garden locked
Until an answer time has stopped
Hoping for mercy, Understanding's call
Maybe another chance
Or the end of it all.
