You will not find us,
With your eyes,
With your hands,
Or with your ears.
You must feel us,
With your heart,
With the pure openness,
Of a child.
So it is,
That we lay hidden,
In a silent wood,
Or in a crag dark.
You will pass us,
On your walks,
And we will sigh,
And play fun at you.
The sounds of the night,
Outside your cabin,
That you fear so much,
Is us.
The green of the grass,
That pulls your eye,
And inspires awe,
Is us.
Far in your childhood,
You saw us once maybe,
On a small hike,
Or when you got lost.
In that glade deep in the wood,
We dance and we sing,
And you stumble in,
And join us.
We are the balance to science,
To reason,
We are the fae,
We are the magic...
