The steps of a person,
Are guided by the Lord;
Taking them one by one,
To be in one accord.
The Lord is delighted,
While waking this way;
Becoming excited,
When we go not astray.
If we fall God is there,
Pulls us up with His hand;
Showing that He does care,
That we are able to stand.
I know I was once young,
But now am growing old;
Cannot sing as once sung,
Knowing fate will unfold.
But never forsaken,
Hope is not deserted;
For I will awaken,
Death will be diverted.
God is so generous,
Because He lends freely;
And feeling splendorous,
Such gratitude really.
So I avoid evil,
And doing what is good;
Escaping the devil,
By doing what I should.
The Lord loves the justice,
And will watch over me;
Whence I was a fetus,
Guiding what I should be.
I reflect His wisdom,
My tongue speaks what is fair;
For thoughts come from His Kingdom,
His teachings I will share.
His Law is in my heart,
None of His steps shall slide;
As mouth and tongue impart,
I proceed to abide.
