I guess the scares on my wrist show me it's real enough
I hope they never fade to remind me what was
I try to bloom but there's thorns on the rose
So when they tend to me I tend to hurt the ones I love the most
But love is not a one way street
I understand now How I can hurt others when I hurt me
Now I decipher codes from those who kneel in prayer
Andsave the scissors cause there's still those who really care
But it comes to me in pieces, the lights turn on and off
My misery seems to stutter, it starts and then it stops
I think I found some peace but turns into a mirage
Suffering is like creation I can't seem to pin point the cause
Mental illness is a crime and I'm guilty as charged
When Imbalanced chemicals act as prison bars
Searching for the catalyst for a happiness
Where insanity blossoms to common sense
I still wonder why you had to go away
Replay that same damn November day
They tell me To talk to you when I fold my hands to pray
But somehow it's just not the same
Are u just a memory? Electrical signals in the brain
or are you the mountains, the sun, and the rain?
I like to believe the latter, it gives me some relief
Use your thoughts as a pill and prescribe a little peace
I walk beside God, that's my belief
And when there was only one set of foot prints that's where he carried me
