'' It's Your Future You Are Commanding ''

As a child I was pretty wild,
I did tend to cause ado,
My behaviour had my mentors beguiled,
Being chastised was nothing new.

Though unfair I didn't care,
I wanted to set myself free,
I'd like to make you all aware,
Sometimes even the blind can see.

In my early years I did cause tears,
Though I'd always pay attention,
Right from wrong held no fears,
I knew all about intervention.

Not very smart with lots of heart,
I followed some crazy schemes,
From mistakes aplenty I'd soon depart,
I wanted to follow my dreams.

Their hard sell was, he's doing well,
Despite what went before,
What I'd learned they couldn't tell,
My thoughtlessness hurt to the core.

I had an ambition to make it my mission,
To show what I had learned,
For past mistakes I showed contrition,
Acceptance is what I yearned.

No more the clown I buckled down,
I made my parents proud,
They no longer wear that frown,
With their knowledge I've been endowed.

Now they've passed what I've amassed,
I pass on to my own,
The lessons of life are really vast,
But I praise those seeds they've sown.

Don't ever smudge or be quick to judge,
Try not to be too demanding,
Mistakes you made don't ever fudge,
