Don't think I despise you
I do not
You hurt me
I forgive but I can't forget
There is much to you I'd like to say
But I know it would be wasted anyway
So when I move my lips to speak
It's not that I am closed or meek
It's just the words are whispers in my chest
Who pause within my sadness
Realizing silence speaks them best
And when I compel my hand to write them
My hand too hesitates
The tendons strain and in tension lose their zest
And all that I can write to mention
Is that somehow silence says it best.
